Windy City Pulp Stories No.4

This annual book concerned with the world of pulp fiction begins with a reprint of a 1938 Writers Digest article about how to write genre fiction by Theodore A Tinsely, preceded by a one-page introduction to Tinsely's article by John Locke. Next is an article on feature films from the 1930s and 1940s that were derived from pulp fiction magazine stories. An old but never published before article by Otto Binder follows. It's about his road trip from Chicago to New York in which he tells about meeting many other science fiction authors of the Golden Age. The next section features an article about Flash Steel, a Western character from the 1930s written by a number of in-house pulp magazine authors. Finally, there is a biography of Frederik Pohl, followed by his short story "Spending a Day at the Lottery Fair," which was originally published in the October 1983 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.
