Author Description A native of Toledo, Ohio, Ken Keller ventured to Columbus to attend Ohio State. Working parttime at a local station, Keller lived his boyhood dream of radio broadcasting, managing to sandwich in classes when time permitted.<br /><br />He soon discovered he was a perfect match for the work of broadcasting: willing to take abuse from listeners and station managers alike, while working impossible split shifts for minimal pay.<br /><br />Over the course of six years, Keller worked for various Columbus area stations, including WMNI, WTVN, WRFD, WOSU, and WBNS TV. As a broadcaster, Keller had the unique experience of watching one era end as two others began. Network radio was coming to a close as network television emerged, and the march toward conglomerate station ownership began.<br /><br />At precisely this point in time, Keller arrived at his first station armed with an audition tape, a passion for broadcasting, and a belief in his, and radio's, shared future. It was a belief that could not survive the financial demands of a growing family. But for several years, it afforded a unique insight into the chaotic and comedic world of local broadcasting.<br /><br />After six years, Keller gathered up the things he had learned and became an advertising copywriter. In 1972, he helped co-found TRIAD, a successful advertising and public relations practice based in Westerville, Ohio. Over the course of a 36-year career in advertising, his titles included creative director, vice president, president, CEO, and retired. Keller has been married to the former Mary Folsom for 47 years. They currently live in Worthington, Ohio, with their cat, Truman. "
